I have been trying to raise awareness here in Andalucia Spain. I am T2. As the health authorities don't have a real approach to Diabetes prevention. Doctors and other medical staff have a fatalistic attitude when discussing Diabetes issues with us patient. "You may loose your foot!". You could go blind, etc.!" I would like to initiate a Spanish/English Poster Champaign here. (There are half a million British Retired here all over 50 years old!). I would also like to make a Video/DVD we could run on a loop in the entrance TV screens in our provincial hospital. It would run in English & Spanish. Explaining that diabetes is not inevitable, and for those that do have it. Amputation and blindness are also NOT inevitable. NOTE. The hospital runs videos promoting the hospital and the state health. My local Doctor will help us gain access to that TV loop facility! We have 8 English language music stations. TalkFM & iTalkFM in English and that's just for the coastal area of this state. All will support a campaign. We have 7 English language News Papers, again all for the coastal region. And there is so much more. A grant from you would give us the boost we need to make this video and print posters. Ignorance means diabetes for all! Please Help!

Thank you DHF for all you do. Although I am Type 1, I have a lot of Type 2 friends and see the lack of resources available to them. I am glad to see that you are specifically targeting them to receive some help.

Very interesting idea. At the TheInsulines.com we are also doing interviews with people with diabetes with the goal of collecting scenarios for our iPhone diabetes game. So we are familiar with the power of interviewing people with diabetes.
